New Delhi: Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) is a government-backed savings scheme that helps parents save money for their daughters’ future. Regular deposits are accepted for this fixed-income investment and the scheme also offers interest on deposits allowing parents to build a fund for their daughter's education and other needs.

Parents can deposit money into an SSY account through cash, cheque, demand draft or online transfer. To deposit money online, you need an India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) savings account. You can then use the IPPB mobile app to transfer money to your daughter's SSY account.

How to Open Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Account

Parents can open an SSY account at a post office or an authorised bank that offers the scheme. Parents have to visit their nearest post office or authorised bank branch and complete the account-opening process for their daughter. Once the account is opened and parents have received the SSY passbook, they can proceed with online deposits.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna: Step-by-step guide to transferring money online to your SSY account
Here are the simple steps to deposit money into your Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account online:

* Download the IPPB app and register for an account.
* Add money to your IPPB account from your regular bank account.
* Open the app and go to the DOP Products section. Choose Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.
* Provide your SSY account number and customer ID.
* Type in the amount you want to deposit and select the available payment or installment option.
* You will receive a notification once the payment transfer via the IPPB mobile application is successful.

These steps allow you to deposit money into your daughter's SSY account without visiting a post office every time.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna: Digital payments App - DakPay

Customers of the IPPB and post office can now use the government-launched DakPay app for digital payments. It offers digital payment and banking services to customers with the support of India Post and IPPB. Using DakPay, customers can send money, scan QR codes and make digital payments to merchants and for various services. The app aims to make banking and digital payments easier and more accessible.
