Law aspirants who have missed the deadline for the Common Law Admission Test now have another week. The Consortium of National Law Universities has pushed the last date for CLAT 2027 applications from October 31 to November 7.
The extension covers both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes. Applications are being accepted online through the Consortium's official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Registration opened on August 3. Candidates mus know that the exam itself has not moved and will be held on December 6, 2026. CLAT 2027 admit card is expected in the third or fourth week of November.
Candidates in the General and OBC categories pay ₹4,000. SC, ST, BPL and PwD candidates pay ₹3,500. The fee can be paid only online, and it is not refunded once paid.
Candidates need to register on the website with their basic details, fill in the application form, upload the required documents, choose their exam cities and pay the fee. Aspirants should check every entry before the final submission, because the Consortium and the NLUs take no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information.
The Consortium extended the deadline last year as well. The CLAT 2026 cutoff moved from October 31 to November 7, 2025, and the exam took place on December 7. It was also extended in the 2025 and 2024 cycles, but each extension has been announced only close to the closing date, so it is risky to count on one.
Candidates who have already applied do not need to do anything. Those who haven't should finish the form well before the new date, since the website tends to slow down in the final days.
