UPSSSC PET 2026 city slip out; Exams to begin from October 25

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the exam city intimation slip for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026. Candidates can download their UPSSSC city intimation slip at the official website, upsssc.gov.in.

Candidates must know that the UPSSSC slip only tells the city or district where they will take the test. It is not the admit card. The commission will issue the admit card separately, with full centre and shift details.

Key details

• Exam dates: October 25, October 30 and November 1, 2026
• Coverage: 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with two shifts each day
• Shift timings: 10 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 5 pm
• Mode: offline, OMR-based
• Negative marking: 0.25 mark for each wrong answer

How to download the slip

• Visit upsssc.gov.in and open the PET city intimation link
• Enter the registration number, date of birth, gender and verification code
• Check the allotted city, then download and print the slip
• The slip is also available through the UPSSSC mobile app

Revised schedule

The exam dates were changed earlier. The commission notified the new schedule on September 25, withdrawing the earlier plan of October 23, 24 and 25. The change affects over 35 lakh registered candidates, and many are now balancing multiple exams in the same window.

PET is a qualifying gateway for Group B and Group C recruitments, including Lekhpal and Junior Assistant. Shortlisting for those posts follows the PET result.

What candidates should do

• Download the city slip now and plan travel early, since the festive season is likely to push up fares
• Check the details on the slip, and report any error to the commission
• The UPSSSC helpline is 0522-2720814, and candidates should note the ticket number if they raise a complaint
• Rely only on the official website for updates, and ignore unofficial links
• Wait for the admit card before finalising anything, as it carries the shift, centre and reporting time
