New Delhi: Actress Taapsee Pannu's latest release 'Gandhari' has emerged as a major success on the global stage, securing a spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Films chart for three consecutive weeks and reaching audiences across multiple countries.

The film has also drawn attention to Taapsee’s action performance, with the actor being praised for bringing intensity and conviction to her role. From performing her own stunts to preparing for physically demanding sequences, Taapsee’s work in the film has once again highlighted her commitment to taking on challenging roles.

Beyond the physical demands of the film, Gandhari also reflects a recurring pattern in Taapsee’s career. She has repeatedly delivered performances that have sparked conversations and earned audience appreciation. The actor describes herself as a ‘dark horse’, someone who continues to surprise people with the work she brings to the screen. From Pink and Thappad to Gandhari, Taapsee has consistently backed films that place her performances at the centre of the narrative. “I call myself the dark horse because no one really believes that I can do it or what I will end up doing. It’s not like when Gandhari was coming, anyone expected it to be among the top five most anticipated films of the year. This has happened with me in every movie, be it Thappad, Pink or any of my films. I have never been a part of the most anticipated films to be watched. I will never be like these top three biggest female stars, where when a film of yours comes, people believe that it’s worth their time to watch it. I have always been the dark horse because eventually I deliver. At times, I feel bad that I have to prove myself so many times. But I am happy being the dark horse. It is also quite an achievement.”

With Gandhari, Taapsee has added another demanding action role to her filmography.

Gandhari is an action thriller film directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon. It stars Taapsee Pannu, Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee and Mita Vashisht in pivotal parts.
