Police in Yelahanka have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly killing his 24-year-old employee, whom he reportedly found in a room with his teenage daughter at their home on Tuesday night.

The deceased, Kiran, was a native of Kerala and had worked for the accused for several years. The accused, originally from Tamil Nadu, makes and sells corn carts near Kogilu Road.

Police said the man's elder daughter, who studies in a Pre-University course in Mysuru, had come home for the holidays. She and Kiran had become friends, and her father was reportedly aware of it and unhappy about it.

On Tuesday, the accused left the house with his wife and told people they were going to Tamil Nadu. A few hours later he came back alone and allegedly found Kiran and his daughter together in a room.

According to police, he first sent the girl to a relative's house in Chikkaballapura.

He then allegedly locked Kiran in the house and attacked him repeatedly with a cricket bat and an iron pipe. Kiran suffered severe injuries to his arms, legs and abdomen and collapsed.

The accused then put Kiran in an autorickshaw and took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said they learned of the death on Tuesday night and went to the spot. Their inquiry showed that Kiran had been killed in an assault. "The investigation revealed that the girl's father had assaulted Kiran, who worked for him, with a bat and a pipe, resulting in his death," a police officer said.

A murder case has been registered and the accused is in custody. Police are continuing their investigation.
