Earthquakes measuring between 4.1 and 4.9 magnitudes were recorded in China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan on early Friday morning, October 23, 2026. Reports from the National Center for Seismology (NCS) verified the earthquakes' occurrence in the morning, a day after a fatal earthquake hit Tibet causing 16 casualties and destroying infrastructure.

Earthquake details of Friday morning (country wise)

As per the technical reports published by the NCS, all three earthquakes took place rapidly in an hour's duration:

Pakistan (4.9 Magnitude): The most devastating earthquake took place first at 4:56 AM local time at a focal depth of 15 km.

Afghanistan (4.1 Magnitude): Earthquakes were measured at 5:54 AM at a deeper focal depth of 25 km.

China (4.4 Magnitude): The last earthquake to take place jolted parts of China at 6:05 AM at a depth of 15 km.

Casualties and impact of earthquake in Tibet

The Friday morning earthquakes have come after the devastating earthquake in Tibet, which caused 16 casualties and extensive damage to properties in multiple mountain villages.

Local areas of all three countries adjacent to the earthquake epicenter are being evaluated for possible damage to structures or subsequent landslides caused by early morning earthquakes.
