The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), in association with the State Bank of India (SBI), organised a cheque felicitation ceremony at the CISF headquarters in New Delhi on October 26 to facilitate financial assistance and welfare benefits for the families of four personnel who died while on duty on September 29, 2026.

The four personnel were serving at CISF Unit SHEP Sewa-II. The financial assistance for each family amounts to Rs1.6 crore, including ex-gratia assistance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which is pending release.

The ceremony was attended by CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan, ADG (Headquarters) Vijay Prakash and ADG (Airport Sector) Binita Thakur. Senior SBI officials present included Advisor Harinath Mishra, General Manager Ajit Poddar and Deputy General Manager Suchitra Jain.

The four deceased personnel were Assistant Commandant/Executive Ankit Kumar Pandey, SI/Executive Lachman Singh, Constable/GD Md. Rafiq and Constable/GD Sanjeev Kumar.

According to the CISF, each family is entitled to the following financial assistance and welfare benefits:

    • Rs1 crore under Personal Accident Insurance (PAI).
    • Rs10 lakh under Group Term Life Insurance (GTLI).
    • Rs20 lakh from the CISF Risk Fund for the next of kin.
    • Rs5 lakh from the CISF Risk Fund for the parents.
    • Rs35,000 towards funeral expenses.
    • Rs25 lakh in ex-gratia assistance from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The total assistance amounts to ₹1.6 crore per family, including the MHA ex-gratia amount yet to be released.

    Pension cases submitted for processing

During the ceremony, senior CISF and SBI officials interacted with the bereaved families and reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating the settlement of admissible financial benefits.

The pension cases of all four personnel have been submitted to the Pay and Accounts Office (PAO), New Delhi, for processing.

The CISF reiterated its commitment to the welfare of the deceased personnel's families and assured them of continued assistance in resolving pending financial and pension-related matters.

Eligible dependants may also be considered for compassionate appointment in accordance with the applicable rules.

The initiative highlights the coordination between the CISF and SBI in facilitating insurance claims and other welfare benefits for the families of personnel who died while serving the force.
