Quote of the day: Let's begin our day on a positive note by revisiting one of the famous sayings by none other than Chanakya. The ancient philosopher, economist, jurist, and royal advisor lived lived during the 4th century BCE, as per reports. Take a look below to check what he said about fear.
"As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it." ― Chanakya
Chanakya here means that the moment you feel fear, attack it and destroy the feeling. Do not let the feeling of fear stay and overpower your mind, body and soul. Fear grows when ignored or delayed. If you hesitate or overthink a challenge, anxiety expands and paralyzes your decision-making.
Confront uncertainty immediately with logic, preparation, and decisive action rather than letting apprehension take root.
Who was Chanakya?
Also known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta, Chanakya was the ancient Indian philosopher, teacher, and strategist. He studied and taught political science, economics, and warfare at the ancient Takshashila University (Taxila). He is credited as the writer of the ancient Indian politico-economic treatise Arthashastra - covering politics, economic policy and military strategy. As per several narratives, he is believed to have assisted the first Mauryan emperor Chandragupta in his rise to power and the establishment of the Maurya Empire.
American historian Thomas Trautmann identifies four distinct accounts of the ancient Chanakya-Chandragupta Katha:
Buddhist version: Mahavamsa
Jain version: Parishishtaparvan
Kashmiri version: Kathasaritsagara
Vishakhadatta's version: Mudrarakshasa
In modern times, many adaptations of the legend of Chanakya share his story in a semi-fictional form.
