Delhi captain Ayush Badoni continued his impressive run in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season, scoring his second consecutive century against Jharkhand in the third-round match at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.
Fresh from a career-best 217 against Gujarat in the previous round, Badoni remained unbeaten on 106 off 122 balls on the opening day against Jharkhand on Monday, October 26. His innings featured 11 fours and two sixes, helping Delhi recover after losing five wickets for 181 runs.
Badoni found support from Sumit Mathur, who was unbeaten on 50 at stumps. The pair added an unbroken 128-run partnership for the sixth wicket to take Delhi to 309/5 at the end of Day 1.
The Delhi skipper had produced a commanding performance against Gujarat in the previous round, scoring 217 at the Air Force Ground in Palam. His latest century further underlined his strong start to the domestic season.
Badoni has also made an impact with the ball this season. In Delhi's opening match against Bengal, he claimed five wickets for 43 runs before scoring 85 in the second innings. Delhi, however, lost that match by nine wickets.
The 26-year-Old has previously registered major scores in first-class cricket, including an unbeaten 205 against Jharkhand in November 2024 and an unbeaten 204 for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy in 2025. His 217 against Gujarat was another significant milestone in his career.
With his second successive century, Badoni has continued to strengthen his case for greater recognition in red-ball cricket. Delhi will look to build on his contribution as their Ranji Trophy campaign progresses.
