The Pakistan vs England ODI tri-series clash in Lahore witnessed a heated moment on Sunday as Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was involved in a verbal exchange with England all-rounder Will Jacks. The incident took place during Pakistan's tense chase at the Gaddafi Stadium, where the hosts eventually secured a thrilling one-wicket victory to book their place in the tri-series final.

The confrontation occurred during the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings. England pacer Sam Curran was bowling to Shadab Khan, who was approaching his century. While Shadab was on 99, an appeal for a wide took place, with the focus subsequently shifting to Rauf at the non-striker’s end, where he was seen exchanging words with Jacks.

The situation appeared to intensify as Rauf moved towards the England all-rounder with his bat in hand. The on-field umpire intervened to prevent the argument from escalating further. England batter Joe Root also stepped in, helping calm the situation and escorting Rauf away from the exchange.

Shadab Khan's century powers Pakistan to thrilling win

The incident unfolded during a dramatic contest in which Pakistan overcame a difficult position to defeat England by one wicket. Chasing a target of 242, the hosts were struggling at 154/9 before Shadab produced a match-winning performance.

The Pakistan all-rounder remained unbeaten on 113 off 96 deliveries, registering his maiden ODI century. His innings proved decisive as he combined with Haris Rauf to put together an unbeaten 89-run partnership for the final wicket.

Rauf contributed an unbeaten seven, including the winning boundary, as Pakistan completed the chase with 17 balls remaining. The result handed Pakistan their third consecutive victory in the tri-series and confirmed their place in the final.

England suffer another defeat in tri-series

England had earlier been bowled out for 241 after being asked to bat first. Despite putting Pakistan under significance pressure during the chase, they were unable to secure the win as Shadab and Rauf turned the match around.

The defeat added to England's difficult run in the competition, which also features Sri Lanka. Pakistan, meanwhile, continued their unbeaten run and advanced to the final on the back of three successive victories.
