Samsung has launched the Galaxy F70 5G in India. It is the third phone in the mid-range F70 series. Its standout feature is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, which is rare on phones under Rs 20,000. The phone also has a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, a 50MP camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a slim 7.5mm body.

    Price, availability and colours
The 4GB RAM + 128GB model costs Rs 19,999. The 6GB + 128GB model costs Rs 22,999. Launch offers with a bank discount bring the starting price down to Rs 17,999. It comes with two colour options: Lilac Bliss and Bliss Black.

    Display and build
The F70 has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Gorilla Glass Victus is a handy addition at this price. It resists scratches and everyday drops. The body is 7.5mm thick and weighs 192g. It has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

    Performance and battery
Samsung's 5nm Exynos 1330 octa-core chipset powers the phone. You get up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. A microSD card can expand the storage up to 2TB. The 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging.

    Camera and software
The rear setup has a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. It also gets a 13MP front camera. The phone runs One UI 7 based on Android 15. It includes Samsung Knox, Samsung Wallet and Circle to Search. Samsung promises four Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. That is a longer window than many budget and mid-range phones offer.

How it compares with the OnePlus N6x
The OnePlus N6x is a direct rival. It costs Rs 18,499 for the 4GB + 64GB model and Rs 19,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model. It has a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a bigger 7,000mAh battery.

Samsung wins on the display. Its FHD+ AMOLED screen should look sharper and show deeper blacks than the OnePlus HD+ LCD. The F70 also has a more flexible camera setup. It offers a 50MP OIS main sensor, an ultra-wide camera and a macro camera. The N6x has a single 13MP rear camera. Gorilla Glass Victus and Samsung’s longer software support add to the lead.

The N6x is the better pick if you care most about battery size and smoother scrolling. The F70 suits you if you want a better screen, versatile cameras, tougher glass and a slim design.
