Triumph has announced prices for the updated Tiger 1200 range in India. Two variants - GT Pro and the Rally Explorer - will go on sale in India from March 2027. Both flagship adventure models get big updates, including a more powerful engine, a revised chassis and radar-based rider aids.
The GT Pro costs Rs 20.99 lakh. The Rally Explorer costs Rs 23.49 lakh. For comparison, the outgoing MY24 Tiger 1200 Rally Pro is listed on the Triumph India website at Rs 20.79 lakh. The GT Explorer is listed at Rs 20.89 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. It competes with bikes like the BMW R 1300 GS, its GSA version, and Ducati Multistrada V4.
The 1,160cc liquid-cooled engine now makes 158hp at 9,250rpm. That is 8hp more than before. Torque stands at 130Nm at 6,750rpm. Peak torque now arrives lower in the rev range. Triumph redesigned the cylinder head, pistons and exhaust. It also fitted lighter intake and exhaust valves and more precise fuel injection. The bike also gets more low-speed torque and revised primary and final-drive ratios.
Both variants now run a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. The Tiger 1200 no longer comes with a 21-inch front wheel. The GT Pro has cast aluminium wheels. The Rally Explorer has spoked wheels.
The suspension uses semi-active Showa units. You get a 49mm USD fork and a monoshock, and both offer 200mm of travel. The system levels the preload automatically. It reads inputs from several sensors, including a six-axis IMU. It then adjusts compression and rebound damping all the time. Braking hardware includes twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers. A 282mm disc sits at the rear. The GT Pro weighs 250kg. The Rally Explorer weighs 268kg.
A front and rear Bosch radar system is another big addition. It brings adaptive cruise control, group ride assist and emergency brake assist. It also adds forward collision warning, blind spot assist and rear distance warning. The bike also gets a new 7-inch TFT touchscreen. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The tank-top phone compartment has a USB-C charging port.
The two variants differ in a few other ways. The GT Pro has seven riding modes. The Rally Explorer has eight, thanks to an extra Off-road Pro mode. The GT Pro has a 20-litre fuel tank. The Rally Explorer has a bigger 30-litre tank. The Rally Explorer also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and an engine guard.
