North Western Railway (NWR) has started accepting applications for Act Apprentice posts for the 2026-27 training year. As per the latest notification, the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Jaipur, is inviting candidates who have passed Class 10 and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade.

The training slots are spread across the Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur divisions and other NWR units, and applications are accepted online only at rrcjaipur.in. Candidates should know that they can choose only one unit.

Key dates

  • Online applications began on October 23, 2026
  • The last date to apply is November 22, 2026, up to 11.59 pm
  • A helpline runs on working days from 10 am to 5 pm on the RRC website, from October 23 until the last date

This is a revised notification. RRC Jaipur cancelled the earlier notification after a partial modification in the demand letter, and revised Notice No. 04/2026 dated October 21 is the valid one.

Who can apply

  • Class 10 pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board, with no rounding off
  • A National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade from NCVT or SCVT
  • Age 15 to 24 years as on November 22, 2026
  • Upper age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for persons with benchmark disabilities, and additional relaxation for ex-servicemen
  • An Aadhaar card, as the 12-digit number is required at registration

Candidates still waiting for final results need not apply.

Where the slots are

The notification gives unit-wise figures for the DRM offices at Ajmer (488), Bikaner (482), Jaipur (549) and Jodhpur (445), plus the B.T.C. Carriage and B.T.C. Loco units at Ajmer and the Carriage Works Shops at Bikaner and Jodhpur.

Trades include fitter, welder, electrician, diesel mechanic, carpenter, painter, electronics mechanic and computer operator. The notification says the slots are provisional and may change depending on the administration's needs.

Application fee

The fee is ₹100 and is non-refundable. SC/ST candidates, persons with benchmark disabilities and women pay nothing. Payment is online by debit card, credit card or net banking.

How selection works

It should be noted that there is no written exam or interview. The merit list is based on the simple average of marks in Class 10 and ITI.

If two candidates tie, the older one gets preference, and if birth dates match, the one who passed Class 10 earlier is considered first.

Merit lists are made separately for each division or unit, by trade and community, and document verification and medical examination are held in the chosen unit.

How to apply

  1. Go to rrcjaipur.in and open the online application link.
  2. Fill in personal details, including Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID.
  3. Upload a recent colour photograph and a signature in the prescribed size and format.
  4. Pay the fee if applicable and download the application form.
  5. Note the registration number and keep the printout and payment receipt. Nothing needs to be posted to RRC.

Documents to keep ready

  • Class 10 certificate and mark sheet, and the ITI trade certificate
  • Original Aadhaar card, with the name, father's name and date of birth matching the Class 10 certificate
  • Caste, OBC non-creamy layer (issued on or after April 1, 2026), EWS, disability or discharge certificates, as applicable
  • Medical certificate in the prescribed format

What candidates should know

The notification states no fixed stipend, which will follow Railway Board rules. No hostel is provided, and training does not give any right to absorption into the Railways.

Candidates must know that submitting more than one application with different details will have all of them rejected, and no changes are allowed after final submission.
