New Delhi: The upcoming magnum opus Ramayana is the most-awaited movie of the year and rightly so. The film is slated to release on November 5, ahead of the big Diwali festival. The team held a special screening of the magnum opus in Los Angeles. Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Nitesh Tiwari, among others, were present at the grand premiere of Ramayana, held at the David Geffen Theatre at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Sai Pallavi on Ravana

Recently, a video of lead actress Sai Pallavi speaking about Ramayana at the event went viral on social media. At the red carpet event, she opened up on Ravana's character. NDTV quoted her as saying: "At the same time, as a scripture, I think, if you are a believer, and you would see, try to introspect, and see what good and bad exists in you, and you learn to correct yourself over time because Ravana is not all bad. And it's important that we spot the Ravana in us, and we make changes over time."

Soon after this video surfaced online, netizens reacted to it.

Another one said: "Literally Hanuman ji said this to ravana during confrontation in Lanka ~ You who know dharma and artha, who have acquired the fruits of tapas — O highly intelligent one (mahāprājña) — you ought not to detain (or besiege) another’s wife.”

Ravana had many qualities but he was an out-and-out pervert and a -ist ! How difficult is it to understand that?  she literally said the same thing. Har chiz mein RR"

Ramayana release

The estimated budget of Ramayana is around Rs 4,000–4,800 crore ($420-500M). Ramayana is one of the biggest films of Indian cinema, bringing one of the greatest epics to life with Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Ravie Dubey in the lead roles. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part 1 is slated for release on Diwali 2026, and the second part on Diwali 2027.

Ramayana Part 1 brings an enduring epic story which goes back in time - the Trinity Gods rule the three worlds: Brahma - god who creates; Vishnu - god who protects; and Shiva - god who transforms. As the realms of heaven and earth edge toward chaos, the Trinity god Vishnu descends to earth in an avatar to restore balance.
