The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday announced changes to train timings on November 8, the day of Diwali, with the last services on all lines, including the Airport Express Line, set to depart from terminal stations at 10 pm instead of the usual 11 pm.

The corporation said the revised timings had been introduced in view of Diwali celebrations and advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly.

The DMRC has also decided to start services an hour earlier on select lines, as Diwali falls on a Sunday this year.

Train services on the Pink Line (Majlis Park-Majlis Park/Shiv Vihar), Magenta Line (Botanical Garden-Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park-Deepali Chowk) and Grey Line (Dwarka-Kakrola-Dhansa Bus Stand), which normally begin at 7 am on Sundays, will start at 6 am from their respective terminal stations.

Passengers have been advised to check the DMRC website and its official social media handles for further updates.

On October 30, the DMRC had extended train services until midnight to facilitate the movement of spectators attending singer Diljit Dosanjh's 'Aura India Tour 2026' concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

GRAP Stage III invoked across Delhi-NCR ahead of Diwali

Meanwhile, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Friday invoked Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) as pollution levels continued to rise.

The decision came two days before Diwali, with Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 382 on Friday, placing it in the 'very poor' category.

Although GRAP Stage III is generally invoked when air quality reaches the 'severe' category, with an AQI of 400 or above, the CAQM brought the restrictions into force early as a precautionary measure.
