Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday chaired a high-level security review meeting of the Kashmir Division, directing senior civil and police officials to intensify the fight against terrorism, strengthen counter-infiltration measures and maintain law and order without compromise.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary-designate Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti, Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADG CID M.K. Sinha and other senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Sinha reviewed operational preparedness and finalised future action plans to maintain peace and security across the Kashmir Division.
The Lieutenant Governor directed officials to sustain and intensify action against terror modules. He asked Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to closely monitor anti-national elements within the administration and make the fight against radicalisation a top priority.
Sinha also called for monthly reviews of property attachments linked to narco-terrorists and the wider terror-supporting ecosystem. He stressed that action against narco-terror networks, drug smugglers and peddlers must continue unabated until Jammu and Kashmir becomes drug-free.
Emphasising the need to prevent infiltration, Sinha directed officials to strengthen the counter-infiltration grid and ensure seamless coordination among the district administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army and Central Armed Police Forces during counter-terror operations.
He also stressed that communal harmony and the overall law-and-order situation must not be allowed to deteriorate. Officials were asked to institutionalise best practices and implement District Convergence Plans to promote lasting peace and development.
Swift redressal of public grievances was described as non-negotiable. Sinha underlined the importance of maintaining a strong and continuous connection between citizens, the police and the administration.
To counter propaganda and misinformation, he directed the establishment of district-level social media cells to respond to false information in real time.
Ahead of the harsh winter months, Sinha directed the administration to ensure adequate stocks of essential commodities and maintain effective snow-clearance arrangements.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of key infrastructure projects across the Kashmir Division.
The Lieutenant Governor's message was clear: security, governance and development must go hand in hand, with zero tolerance for terrorism, infiltration and the networks that sustain them.
