As Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli celebrates his 38th birthday today (Thursday, November 5), tributes, admiration, and warm wishes have poured in from across the global cricketing fraternity.
Leading the chorus was former India wicketkeeper-batter and long-time Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Dinesh Karthik, whose tribute captured the sentiment shared by millions: "Same fire, every single year. 38 never looked this fit. Happy birthday, Virat."
Kohli marked the occasion in typical style. On the eve of his birthday, he scored a fluent 74 off 51 balls in the rain-curtailed first ODI against New Zealand in Auckland, helping India chase down a revised target of 143 and take a 1-0 series lead.
Shots oozed authority, drawing a standing ovation from Eden Park fans, some of whom had already begun singing "Happy Birthday" while he fielded.
Wishes Pour In For Virat Kohli
Social media platforms have been flooded with messages from teammates, former rivals, boards, and fans celebrating not just his statistical dominance, but the transformative standard of fitness and fierce competitive spirit he instilled across Indian sports culture.
Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan posted on X, hailing his long-time teammate's "passion, hunger and love for the game".
"Happy Birthday, @imVkohli! Your passion, hunger and love for the game continue to inspire millions. Have a fantastic year ahead, bro!," posted Dhawan.
Former Indian middle-order batter Suresh Raina posted a heartwarming note for Virat, saying that for him, watching him bat is "pure joy" and "from breathtaking cover drives to unforgettable run chases, he has given cricket fans countless memories and emotions."

The Ultimate Standard Of Fitness And Longevity
Reaching 38 while maintaining peak athletic condition, Virat Kohli continues to defy conventional limits in modern international cricket. His transition into a fitness pioneer over a decade ago altered the landscape of Indian cricket, making endurance, agility, and uncompromising diet routines the baseline rather than an exception.
Karthik's homage highlights how Kohli’s trademark intensity - the same fierce hunger visible when he led India to the U-19 World Cup in 2008 - remains undiminished nearly two decades later.
