India take 2-0 lead after KL Rahul's crucial contribution

Meanwhile, India secured a four-run victory over New Zealand in a rain-affected second ODI, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

India's batting unit struggled against New Zealand's bowling attack while chasing a target of 135 in 47 overs. Rain reduced the hosts to 113/7 in 26 overs, with KL Rahul unbeaten on 26.

India were five runs ahead of the DLS par score of 109 when the match was abandoned, handing the hosts a narrow victory.

Earlier, India's young pace attack delivered an impressive performance to bowl New Zealand out for 134 in 41 overs. Gurnoor Brar led the bowling effort with career-best figures of 4/30, while Auqib Nabi and Anshul Kamboj claimed two wickets each.

India's chase proved challenging as the pitch offered considerable bounce and movement. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for a first-ball duck after edging Jacob Duffy to the slip cordon.

With the victory, India strengthened their position in the series with a 2-0 advantage. The third ODI is scheduled to take place in Hamilton on Tuesday.
