Delhi vehicle ban: Latest News, Trending topics videos, photos - Zee News English

Starting on November 1, 2026, Delhi has brought into place transport regulations that prohibit non-BS6 vehicles from entering the city if they are not registered in Delhi. The initiative is part of the winter pollution control drive by the Delhi government under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which will remain effective until January 31, 2027.<h2>Which vehicles are banned and which are exempt?</h2>The Delhi Traffic Police have issued directions that clarify who is eligible for entering the capital from neighboring states such as Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.Prohibited vehicles: Non-BS6 petrol and diesel private vehicles, light and heavy commercial vehicles which are registered outside Delhi and do not comply with the latest specifications on emissions.Exempted vehicles: Electric vehicles (EVs), CNG vehicles, petrol/diesel vehicles meeting the BS6 standard, and emergency vehicles.Diversion for trucks: Commercial heavy trucks not going to Delhi will have to divert via the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressway.<blockquote class="twitter-tweet">From 1 November 2026, vehicle entry into Delhi will be restricted under the revised GRAP rules. ✅ Allowed: BS-VI, CNG, electric and exempted vehicles, subject to applicable rules. ⛔ Restrictions apply to: * Vehicles below BS-VI standards * Vehicles without a valid PUCC * Non-compliant interstate buses * Trucks not destined for Delhi (use peripheral expressways) * Tractors and jugaad vehicles, as applicable * Certain vehicles registered outside Delhi 📅 Check your vehicle’s eligibility before travelling and follow official traffic advisories. 📞 Traffic Helpline: 011-25844444 / 1095 #DTPUpdates #GRAP2026— Delhi Traffic Police (@dtptraffic) <a href="https://x.com/dtptraffic/status/2115875638385274986?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 29, 2026</a></blockquote><h2>No PUCC, no fuel &amp; doubling of parking fee</h2>As part of their project to control emissions, Delhi officials implemented a mechanism where fuel dispensation is tied to emission compliance, and parking fees would be modified to discourage private car use.Fuel station rules: Fuel stations as part of the Delhi will initiate a strict "No PUCC, No Fuel" rule.
