<p>The appointment of Stephen Miller as the White House Chief of Staff marks the rise of one of Donald Trump's most devoted advisers in this highest position in the administration. Miller is known as the designer of the nation’s strict immigration laws, but now he has extended his influence into the sphere of foreign policy, where he advocates the idea of US strength characterised by its use of military force instead of diplomatic means.</p><h2><strong>Defending asymmetric military action against Iran</strong></h2><p>Miller has strongly defended the joint military operations of the US and Israel against Tehran, declaring that classical diplomacy is “politically correct."</p><p>At a press conference on March 26, 2026, Miller attacked the way how the previous administrations worked, stating that the US military under Trump operates without restrictions.</p><h2><strong>Focus on ultimate victory</strong></h2><p>Miller’s statements, given in August 2026 and reported by Iran International, praised the destruction of Iran’s navy, air defence, and command systems.</p><h2><strong>Controlling the Strait of Hormuz</strong></h2><p>Miller highlighted the fact that military actions allowed keeping the strait open for US ships and closed it for Iranian vessels.</p><p>Public perception divided: Although the administration has claimed a major foreign policy victory, an NBC News poll conducted by Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies found that 54% of American voters disapprove of the administration's actions regarding Iran, compared to 41% approval.</p><h2><strong>'Governed by might': The doctrine of international relations, Venezuela, and Greenland</strong></h2><p>Miller's international relations doctrine is based on the idea of power by force not through international agreements or diplomatic actions.</p><p><strong>In a January CNN interview, Miller outlined his doctrine without any ambiguity:</strong></p><p>"We live in a real world governed by strength, governed by force, and governed by power," Miller stated. "These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time."</p><p>These statements coincide with the administration's aggressive policies in the Western Hemisphere and Europe.
