MPD-2047 cover measures for urban-planning to focus on key areas such as infrastructure, mobility, housing while ensuring the city's economic as well as environmental development.

New Delhi: Introduced by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD-2047) aligns with the visions of Viksit Bharat 2047 and sets out a long-term framework for land use and development in the region.

It succeeds MPD-2021 after coming into force on August 20, 2026.

MPD-2047 cover measures for urban-planning to focus on key areas such as infrastructure, mobility, housing while ensuring the city's economic as well as environmental growth.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu suggested wider public participation in the implementation of the Master Plan, following which the DDA introduced a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on Master Plan for Delhi-2047 (MPD-2047) on August 30, 2026.

The FAQs which are available on the website lays out the information on the various provisions of the Plan essential to citizens and stakeholders.

They cover a wide spectrum of subjects, including General Provisions, Development Control Norms, Redevelopment, Heritage and Public Spaces, Land Pooling Policy, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), High Density Corridors (HDC), Low Density Areas (LDA), and In-situ Slum Rehabilitation (ISR), the statement said.

The DDA also introduced the "MPD-2047 (Feedback)" facility through its Citizen Services platform, enabling citizens and stakeholders to directly share their suggestions and feedback related to the Master Plan.

Accessible at citzservices.dda.org.in, users simply need to sign up on the platform, after which the "MPD-2047 (Feedback)" option becomes visible in the menu bar. Besides, it can also be accessed under "At Your Service" section, the statement added.

The feedback option facilitates a channel to citizens and stakeholders to put forward their views regarding the Master Plan, encouraging dialogue and participation while actualizing the propositions laid out in the plan.

To further simplify the understanding of the Master Plan, the DDA has also made available creatives and other visual communication material covering various themes and provisions of MPD-2047, the statement added.

These resources present planning concepts and key provisions in a simple and accessible manner, enabling citizens and stakeholders to better understand the development framework and opportunities envisaged under the Plan, it said.

These digital initiatives complement DDA's ongoing three-month stakeholder engagement programme, under which 20 meetings are scheduled on various aspects of MPD-2047.

The engagement will bring together elected representatives, government agencies and service providers, industry bodies, architects and planners, residents' and group housing representatives, farmers and landowners, and other concerned stakeholders, the DDA said.
