New Delhi: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has urged employees earning up to Rs 25,000 per month in basic pay to enroll in the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) through their employer to secure their social security benefits.

In an X post, the EPFO said that employees earning up to Rs 25,000 should get enrolled in the EPF to get social security, pension benefits, life insurance up to Rs 7 lakh and the provident fund.

The government recently increased the EPF wage ceiling from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. The new wage ceiling is effective from 17th September 2026. Employees earning up to Rs 25,000 plus dearness allowance can now enroll for the EPF, Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) and the Employees’ Deposit-Linked Insurance (EDLI) Scheme.

How to get enrolled in EPF if you are earning up to Rs 25,000?

In the X post the EPFO said that employees earning up to Rs 25,000 per month should get enrolled under the EPF through their employer.

"Is your monthly salary up to Rs 25,000? Ensure your social security today! Enroll in the Employee Provident Fund through your employer," the EPFO said in the X post.
