Six-pack abs used to be a Bollywood hero’s calling card, and a new generation is carrying that on. From Ahaan Panday to Rishabh Sawhney, a batch of Gen-Z actors is showing up on screen and on Instagram with seriously sculpted physiques. They’re building them through strict training, disciplined diets and a fitness-first mindset that fans can’t stop talking about. These young lads have embraced hard work and training, martial arts, and intense body transformations to get that fit body. Here are 5 young actors with washboard abs who are setting the bar for the next wave of leading men.
Ahaan Panday
Ahaan made his debut with Saiyaara opposite Aneet Padda and won a million hearts with his performance. According to Economic Times report, for the movie he got his athletic physique through a 6-day multidisciplinary routine combining weightlifting, MMA, boxing, and mobility work like yoga for peak functional performance. His workout balances building strength through weight training with enhancing flexibility and posture through yoga and Pilates.
Rishabh Sawhney
Rishabh Sawhney was seen in Fighter and Nagabandham. He flaunts a chiselled, razor-sharp physique. His aesthetic is the result of strict strength training, targeted core workouts, and meticulous dietary discipline that keeps his six-pack shredded year-round. He told Health and Me, "There are a lot of scams in the fitness industry. You must not buy anything without knowledge. Do some research, ask around and then only invest in that product."
"Between the shoots, during breaks, I make sure to carry a resistance band or a skipping rope and try to work on that. Bodybuilding can be done outside the gym too," he said.
Lakshya
Actor Lakshya kickstarted his career with the titular role in the period drama series Porus (2017–2018) and made his feature film debut with a starring role in the action film Kill (2023). His routine includes heavy compound weightlifting, high-intensity combat training, and rigorous endurance drills to build real, functional muscle that holds incredible power.
Lakshay opened up on his body transformation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast in 2024. He quipped, "It’s a natural body. Substance wagerah kuch nahi gaya hai body me. (No steroids at all). It took me 18 years. I have been gymming since 18 years. I didn’t make it in 1-2 years because I got the film. This is not that kind of body. I have been working out since the age of 17. I have been gymming. I was also a trainer. I know all about it. I wanted to have a natural body…so that if a 15-16 year old looks at me, he feels inspired to make it himself."
Rohit Saraf
Rohit underwent a massive 15-month body recomposition program. He locked into heavy progressive weight training coupled with Kalaripayattu agility drills and tight macro-focused nutrition, resulting in a significantly bulked-up, lean, and athletic transformation. Rohit dropped a series of shirtless pictures on Instagram from one of the songs from Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Rohit’s coach, Tejas Lalwani, shared the secret behind the actor’s new look.
A BTS video from the shoot, shared by Filmfare, revealed Rohit working through bicep curls, lateral raises, push-ups, and high-intensity drills. His once-lean frame has been replaced with sharper definition and muscular strength, adding intensity to his dance moves and on-screen presence.
Vedang Raina
Gen Z actor Vedang Raina relies on consistent strength programming and core conditioning, pairing lean muscle gains with sharp functional agility to craft a classic, screen-ready aesthetic. He focuses on heavy weightlifting, regular core exercises, and daily mobility moves to build strong muscles, a firm waist, and a well-balanced, athletic look.
In a 2024 Indian Express interview, Vedang revealed, "I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep because I feel better and more refreshed the next day. I make it a point to drink at least four litres of water a day. I also ensure I get some sort of activity, be it cardio, gym, weightlifting or even a sport. I aim to go to the gym five days a week. Those would be my tips."
