The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep for October 23, 2026.

Severe to very severe rainfall activity is expected in southern parts of India tomorrow, Friday, October 23, 2026, as the IMD released weather alerts in several states of India, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep.

The rainfall is likely due to a low-pressure system that is getting more intense over the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, causing squally winds and thunderstorms.
