The 60 office-bearers facing action include 32 state secretaries, 14 general secretaries, five vice-presidents and nine district presidents.

The Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress has suspended 60 of its office-bearers, including nine district presidents and five state vice-presidents, for failing to attend the Congress's ‘Vote Chori’ rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1.
The disciplinary action was taken on November 3, following directions from the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) national leadership, which treated the absence of the functionaries as a serious breach of organisational discipline.
According to a notification issued late on Tuesday, the suspensions have come into immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.

Nine district presidents among those suspended

The 60 office-bearers facing action include 32 state secretaries, 14 general secretaries, five vice-presidents and nine district presidents.
The district presidents suspended belong to Maihar, Agar, Neemuch, Burhanpur, Anuppur, Guna, Barwani, Chhatarpur and Bhind.
The order said the action was intended to maintain organisational discipline and ensure that directions issued by the national leadership were followed.

Action amid Congress's ‘Vote Chori’ campaign

The suspensions come as the Congress intensifies its nationwide campaign over alleged irregularities in electoral processes and voter lists. The party has repeatedly accused the Election Commission of failing to address concerns over alleged "vote theft", particularly in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The November 1 rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan was attended by senior Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, alongside representatives of other Opposition parties.
The gathering was used to demand greater accountability from the Election Commission and highlight allegations of manipulation of electoral rolls.
The Election Commission, however, has maintained that the revision exercise is intended to ensure accurate voter lists by removing duplicate and ineligible entries.

State unit under scrutiny

The action against the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress functionaries comes as the Congress seeks to strengthen its campaign on electoral transparency through organisational mobilisation across the country.
The mass suspension has also drawn attention to the functioning of the party's state-level organisation and the extent to which its office-bearers are complying with instructions from the national leadership.
