Kharge Asks Congress MPs To Remain In Delhi For Three Days
Earlier on Sunday, Kharge asked Congress MPs to remain present in the national capital from October 30 to November 1, 2026, in connection with the protests over alleged 'vote chori' and irregularities involving the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
In a communication to party MPs, the Congress president said their presence was required for the protests scheduled over the three days.
The message stated: "That on 30 October, 31 October and 1 November, 2026, in connection with ongoing protest on the issue of 'Vote Chori' and revelations in regard to irregularities by the Election Commission of India and the CEC, all MPs are requested to be present in Delhi."
The directive specifically covers November 1, when the Congress is scheduled to hold the 'Save the Vote, Save the Country Jan March and Mega Rally' at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
The party has accused the ECI of irregularities in the electoral process, allegations that have become a central focus of the INDIA bloc's protests.
Rahul Gandhi Urges People To Join November 1 Rally
Earlier on Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appealed to students, farmers, labourers, women, young people and traders to join the proposed march and rally in Delhi.
In a post on X, Gandhi alleged that names had been removed from voter lists and that rules and laws had been violated. He also claimed that force had been used against people who raised questions about the alleged irregularities.
"Our votes are being stolen, and we will not tolerate this quietly under any circumstances," Gandhi wrote.
"Names have been removed from the voter lists. Rules and laws have been broken. And lathis have been used on those asking questions. Now the country will respond," he added.
Calling on people from different sections of society to participate, Gandhi described the rally as a campaign to protect democracy and urged them to gather in the national capital on November 1.
Announcing the programme, he wrote, "November 1 - Let's go to Delhi. Save the Vote - Save the Country Jan March and Mega Rally."
The Congress has asked its MPs to remain in Delhi throughout the three-day period as the party and its INDIA bloc allies continue their campaign against alleged electoral irregularities.
