Indian all-rounder Prema Rawat etched her name into cricket folklore by hammering the fastest half-century in women's T20 history.
India all-rounder Prema Rawat has created history by smashing the fastest half-century in women’s T20 cricket. The 24-year-old Prema reached 50 off just 14 balls for Uttarakhand against Hyderabad in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy Elite at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Gahunje, Pune.
Walking in at No. 4, Rawat wasted no time settling in. She launched a merciless counter-attack against Hyderabad's bowling attack. Rawat remained unbeaten on 50* from 14 deliveries at a strike rate of 357.14, hitting six fours and four sixes on Monday.
Her explosive late assault helped Uttarakhand post 187/2 after electing to bat. Hyderabad were restricted to 98/8 and lost by 89 runs. Prema was named Player of the Match for her all-round performance.

Breaking Fatima Sana's Record
Prema Rawat's 14-ball fifty surpassed the previous mark of 15 balls, which had been set by Pakistan captain Fatima Sana against Zimbabwe in a T20I in Karachi on May 15, 2026.
While Sana still retains the benchmark in women's T20 Internationals (T20Is), Rawat's 14-ball fifty now stands alone as the fastest across all recognized women's Twenty20 cricket.
All-Round Match-Winning Impact
Rawat's match-defining contribution was not confined to batting alone. Returning with the ball in the second innings, the right-arm bowler delivered a spell of 2 for 12 in her 4 overs, including a maiden, stifling Hyderabad's run chase. The record-shattering innings adds another high point to Rawat's rapid rise.
Having represented India's senior side in recent international fixtures and made key contributions in domestic leagues, Rawat's performance cements her status as one of the most explosive multi-format all-rounders in Indian cricket.
