Lava Aura Curve launched at Rs 23,999: Rear LED display, 6,000mAh battery, 50MP camera and more

Lava has launched the Aura Curve smartphone. It comes with a curved AMOLED display and a slim body. The Lava Aura Curve costs Rs 23,999. It comes in one variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Lava will sell it through its offline retail network across India. You can pick from two colours: Him Silver and Ambar Blue.

Display and build
The phone has a 6.67-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display. It runs at 120Hz and reaches 1,100 nits of peak brightness. It also has 1920Hz PWM dimming. Al-Si DT Star 2 glass protects the screen, and the build is military-grade certified.

The rear display uses multiple LEDs. It alerts you to incoming calls, messages and app notifications. It even shows the volume level. That should help if you like to keep your phone face down.

Chip and camera
A MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip powers the phone. Lava’s Virat Curve and the Infinix Hot 70 Pro use the same chip. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX752 sensor with EIS. The front camera uses a 13MP sensor.

Software and battery
Like most Lava phones, the software is free of bloatware. It runs Android 16. Lava promises two OS upgrades and three years of security patches. The 6,000mAh battery claims up to 720 hours of standby. It supports 45W fast charging. You get a 33W charger in the box.

Other features
The phone also offers dual stereo speakers with dual-mic noise cancellation. The back uses vegan leather. It has an IP64 rating. Lava also adds Vayu AI, which answers your questions through text and voice.

How it compares with the Infinix Hot 70 Pro
The Infinix Hot 70 Pro uses the same Dimensity 7100 chip and costs Rs 24,999. Its display is a 1080p LCD. The Aura Curve has the edge here, with more vivid contrast and deeper blacks.

Battery and camera look evenly matched. Both have a 50MP main camera and a 6,000mAh battery. On software, the Infinix runs XOS 16. It should feel more polished and well-rounded.

The Aura Curve is one of the few phones in this price range with an AMOLED screen. That makes it a good pick if you binge a lot of content. The Hot 70 Pro suits you better if you want more mature software.
