OnePlus Ace 7 series set to launch in China on October 29: Here's what we know so far

OnePlus has announced the launch date for its next Ace series. The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro will debut in China next week. One of them is expected to launch in India as the OnePlus 16R. Like earlier Ace phones, this series focuses on performance and gaming. It comes with dedicated hardware and features built for that purpose.

Launch date and timing
The Ace 7 series will launch in China on October 29. The event starts at 7 pm China time. That is 4:30 pm IST in India. Both phones are already open for pre-order.

Chipset
OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 7 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Qualcomm launched this flagship chip last year. It is known for peak speed and strong endurance.

Cooling system
The cooling system is expected to be the highlight. It is also an upgrade over the Ace 6 series, which only worked with external cooling accessories. OnePlus calls it the Dual-Path Glacier Air Cooling System. The brand says it is an industry first. It claims the system keeps temperatures up to 10 degrees Celsius lower during long gaming sessions.

The system uses two airflow paths. One path blows hot air away. The other brings cool air to your hands. It also uses the same tower fin structure you see in professional graphics cards and PC coolers. OnePlus says this gives very high heat dissipation. A dedicated sensor makes sure the fan runs only when you need it.

Display
The Ace 7 series should get a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat OLED display. The refresh rate can reach 185Hz, which should make games look very smooth. Everyday scrolling will likely stay at 165Hz. That would still be one of the highest in the segment.
