Dhanteras 2026: Discover affordable, Vastu-approved alternatives to gold and silver for Dhanteras 2026, along with rules on where to place them and what items to avoid.

Every Dhanteras, the same thought comes up. Gold and silver are costly, and not every family can buy them each year. If you are planning your shopping list, you may be asking: Is it really necessary to buy gold or silver on Dhanteras? Which thing is lucky for them? Where to keep those items after bring them into your home? Things not to buy during these days? Good news: you do not need to spend a lot. Let's go through it, starting with timing.

Dhanteras 2026: Date & buying time

Dhanteras falls on Friday, November 6, 2026. The Trayodashi tithi runs from about 10:30 AM on November 6 to 10:47 AM on November 7. Most Panchang sources treat buying as auspicious through this whole window, so there is no need to rush. The evening puja muhurat in New Delhi is about 6:02 PM to 7:57 PM, and it shifts by city.

Gurudev Vikrant Jain, Chairman and Founder of the Indian Institute of Vedic Science (IIVS), says, "Dhanteras rewards good intent, not the size of the bill. A small, thoughtful purchase made with a calm mind is better than a big one made under pressure," he says.
