Engine and performance
The M 1000 RS uses the familiar 999cc inline-four. The M 1000 R and M 1000 RR use it too. Here, it makes 218hp at 14,500rpm and 113Nm at 11,000rpm. The standard M 1000 R makes 205hp at 13,000rpm and 112.5Nm at 11,100rpm. BMW claims a 0-100kph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 283kph. A full-titanium M exhaust system comes as standard.

Suspension and brakes
The suspension is fully adjustable and electronically controlled at both ends. You get a 45mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The front brakes use 320mm discs with four-piston radial calipers. The rear has a 220mm disc with a single-piston floating caliper.

Ergonomics
BMW has tweaked the riding position. The foot pegs come from the M 1000 RR. The seat sits 20mm higher than on the standard M 1000 R, which has an 850mm seat height. BMW says this puts you in a more front-wheel-oriented position.

Electronics and options

The 6.5-inch TFT display shows a dedicated M start-up animation. Optional extras include a low windscreen, handlebar risers and different seat options. You can also pick M Performance Parts. These include a data logger with a GPS lap trigger and an engine protector.

Price and availability
The M 1000 RS costs 40,000 euros in Germany. That is roughly Rs 42.36 lakh. Sales start in March 2027, and production is capped at 1,000 units worldwide.
