The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced an anti-SIR protest in Kochi on November 7, marking its first major demonstration since its leaders were detained in Delhi over protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar and the electoral roll revision exercise.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday announced a protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kochi, Kerala, on November 7, reiterating its demand for the cancellation of the exercise. Titled ‘Jantar Mantar at Kochi’, the demonstration will be held at Rajendra Maidan from 4 pm, the party said in a post on X.
“Save Democracy! Cancel SIR! Join Us - 7th November - 4 PM | Rajendra Maidan, Kochi,” the post read.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke will participate in the demonstration, along with the party's South Zone lead Vijay Mallangi and National Secretary Aafreen Nawaz, who are also expected to attend the anti-SIR protest in Kochi on November 7.
The Kochi protest marks the CJP's first major initiative since its leaders were detained in Delhi while attempting to organise a demonstration at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Last month, Delhi Police detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and other party leaders, including Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, for attempting to stage a protest against Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar without prior permission.
The government subsequently withdrew Jantar Mantar's designated status as a protest site. In response, Das and Ranka entered the restricted protest area and waved the national flag to oppose the decision. They were arrested and remained in jail for a week before being released after submitting an undertaking to the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) that they would not organise further demonstrations at Jantar Mantar while it remained denotified.
Dipke, who had announced a Tiranga event at Central Park in Connaught Place last month, was also arrested by Delhi Police. He was subsequently released by the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) on a conditional bail bond, one of the key terms of which required him to maintain peace and ensure no breach of public order for one year.
The CJP also extended its support to the INDIA bloc's march in Delhi on November 1, but did not take part in the Rahul Gandhi-led rally at Ramlila Maidan.
