Happy Valmiki Jayanti 2026: Valmiki Jayanti is observed on the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, the sage credited with writing the Hindu epic Ramayana. The day honours the life and teachings of the Sanskrit poet, who is also called Adi Kavi. In 2026, it falls on October 26.

The festival is held on Ashwin Purnima in the Hindu lunar calendar, so its date shifts from year to year. According to Hindu mythology, Valmiki was born as Ratnakara and spent his early years as a highway robber. His life is said to have turned around after he met the sage Narad Muni, who pointed him towards devotion to Lord Rama.

Narad Muni is said to have asked him to keep repeating the word "Mara," which means "kill." As he went on repeating it, the word turned into "Rama," the avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Ratnakara then gave himself over to meditation and worship of Lord Rama for years. An anthill is believed to have grown around him while he sat in meditation, and this is said to be the origin of the name Valmiki, which in Sanskrit means one born from an anthill.

Maharishi Valmiki's role in the Ramayana

According to tradition, years of meditation led him to enlightenment, and he came to be known as a Brahmarishi. Mythology says Lord Brahma then blessed him with a vision, which inspired him to compose the Ramayana.

The Ramayana is one of the most important epics in Hindu mythology. It has 24,000 verses divided into seven cantos, or Kandas, the last of which is the Uttara Kanda.

Valmiki is also a character in his own epic. In the story, he gave shelter to Sita, Lord Rama's wife, at his hermitage during her exile, and he taught her sons, Luv and Kush, while they lived there.

For his contribution to Sanskrit literature and the Ramayana, he is known as Adi Kavi, the first poet, and is widely revered as Maharishi Valmiki.

51 wishes to share on Valmiki Jayanti 2026

1.
New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday (October 26) said that the INDIA bloc would consider a request from Delhi's traders to reschedule its November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan, as the business community warned that the event could disrupt sales during the festive shopping season.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, he said the Opposition leadership would discuss the request within a day or two and seek a solution. The rally is part of the coalition’s drive across India against alleged “vote chori (vote theft)”.

“The rally is scheduled for November 1. We have received an appeal from the traders. We will think about it today or tomorrow and find a solution because what we are doing is also for the public and for them,” he said.

He emphasised that the Opposition's campaign addressed a serious issue related to voters' rights. “This issue of 'vote chori' is very serious,” he said, arguing that people must have the right to vote for businesses and students to have opportunities.

“Still, we have received their request, and we will consider it,” Kharge added.

Why Delhi traders want the rally postponed

The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) had written to Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on October 24, urging the INDIA bloc to hold the rally after November 10. The dates cited by the trade body include Dhanteras on November 6, Diwali on November 8 and Bhai Dooj on November 10.

CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal said that the rally could affect business during one of the busiest periods of the year. According to him, Dhanteras generates nearly Rs 25,000 crore in business in Delhi, including sales of gold, jewellery, electronics, clothing and automobiles.

The CTI also cited losses suffered by traders earlier in October because of traffic diversions in Central Delhi. It estimated that the restrictions had cost retail and wholesale businesses around Rs 3,000 crore.

Why traders fear rally disruptions

The trade body said Ramlila Maidan lies within a five-kilometre radius of nearly 20 major wholesale and retail markets. These include Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Khari Baoli, Bhagirath Palace, Chawri Bazar and Karol Bagh.

Traders fear that security barricades, traffic diversions and possible restrictions on metro services could make these markets difficult for customers to reach during the festive rush.

The CTI also drew attention to the venue's proximity to Old Delhi and New Delhi railway stations. Thousands of shoppers and wholesale traders travel to the capital from other cities during the festive season, and congestion near the stations could complicate their journeys and the movement of goods.

The organisation acknowledged the right of political parties to hold public meetings but appealed the Opposition leadership to consider the impact on small and medium-sized businesses.

It urged Gandhi to consider holding the rally after November 10, when the main festive shopping period would have passed.

Delhis Chamber of Trade and Industry has urged the INDIA bloc to hold its Ramlila Maidan rally after November 10, citing the risk of losses during the festive shopping season. The body estimates Dhanteras sales in the capital at nearly Rs 25,000 crore and says earlier traffic diversions cost traders around Rs 3,000 crore.

India captain Smriti Mandhana credited Harmanpreet Kaur, Pratika Rawal and Deepti Sharma for rescuing the side from 19/2 and setting up a 121-run win over Zimbabwe in the second women’s ODI here on Sunday, which handed India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

After Smriti and Shafali Verma fell inside the first three overs at the BCA Stadium, Harmanpreet and Pratika (61) added 124 runs for the third wicket before Harmanpreet (126) and Deepti (106 not out) put on a record 153-run stand for the fifth wicket to lift India to 328/6.

"Today’s biggest positive, from 19/2, to get 300-plus - credit to Harman, Pratika, and Deepti the way they batted. Was brilliant to watch," Smriti said in the post-match presentation.

The India skipper reserved special praise for Deepti, who struck her second ODI hundred, and felt the all-rounder’s batting position often limited her opportunities to play long innings. "She (Deepti) has been batting brilliantly. Even in the ODI World Cup, she had a lot of match-winning knocks for us. Unfortunately, her number is such that she doesn’t get long overs, but really happy the way she went about it today and got her hundred."

Smriti, who got her first ODI series win as India’s full-time captain, also lauded left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma, who claimed her maiden four-wicket haul in international cricket, for her clever variations, and said the rest of the attack had played its part too. "Vaishnavi was brilliant, she was varying her pace and changing the angles. She knows her game very well which is always good to have as a captain. And the other bowlers chipped in as well.

"In white ball cricket, I think 4-5 overs is still a long spell considering the heat. Of course today it was not that hot. Otherwise as well, you don’t want the batters to get used to it. The kind of quality we have in our bowling line-up, they can come in and bowl in good areas any time. As a batter you don’t want bowlers changing," she said.

She was also full of praise for Zimbabwe’s effort on the field in the afternoon heat. “Zimbabwe were brilliant in the field, and they stopped nearly 20-30 runs, especially in the point area. Brilliant to watch. I mean it’s really hot out there in the afternoon. "But the kind of trying and diving for every ball even in the 50th over. I don’t think they’ve dropped any catch in the last two series which is very nice. Good signs for women’s cricket in general," she added.

Zimbabwe captain Josephine Nkomo, who left the field during India’s innings after a diving stop, admitted she was carrying a few niggles but was pleased with her bowler's improvement from the series opener.

"I’m a bit sore. Tonight, have a lot of work to do with the physio. Today we bowled well in the powerplay, some decent lines, way better than the last game. Our death bowling today was a bit spot on, which is a positive."

She also felt her batters had let good starts go to waste, with Modester Mupachikwa (49) and Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano (46) both falling short of fifties.

"In the batting, we had starts, we just failed to convert. Rohit asked Love about her relationship with Scout, to which she replied that she considered him a brother.

Rohit then brought up instances in which Scout had massaged Love’s feet, hands and neck. Questioning their behaviour, he told Love, “When he is massaging your feet, hands and neck, Love, it does not look right. You ask Scout to massage you from behind, and he massages your calves. It is not looking good at all,” he said.

Scout defended himself by saying that he also massages actor Mahhi Vij when she asks him to.
Kylian Mbappe reached a major milestone by scoring his 100th goal for Real Madrid, helping his side secure a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the 2026-27 La Liga season on Sunday.

The French forward scored twice, including a late winner in the 87th minute, as Real Madrid ended Barcelona’s unbeaten start to the league campaign and moved within three points of their rivals at the top of the table.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 41st minute after a deflected clearance from Barcelona defender Gerard Martin fell into his path. The forward made no mistake in finishing past goalkeeper Joan Garcia to give Madrid the lead.

Barcelona responded in the second half through Raphinha, who scored in the 61st minute to bring the hosts level. However, Mbappe struck again late in the game after Eduardo Camavinga set him up inside the box, allowing the Frenchman to slot the ball into an empty net.

The goal marked Mbappe’s 100th for Real Madrid since joining the Spanish giants in 2024. He became the 24th player to reach the milestone for the club and the fourth-fastest to do so, joining legendary Madrid forwards Alfredo Di Stefano, Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo in the club’s 100-goal club.

Despite reaching the landmark in one of the biggest fixtures in world football, Mbappe insisted that the team’s victory mattered more than his personal achievement. "I’m very happy; I think everyone knows I like to score goals. I like to help the team with that, but I think today it’s just a detail, because the most important thing is the team’s win," Mbappe told Real Madrid TV.

He also stressed that Madrid must maintain their intensity if they want to challenge for the La Liga title this season. "The real star of the game today is the team, the group, because we knew we had to play a big game, a team game," he added.

Mbappe cautioned against getting carried away by the result, saying the team must continue winning consistently to achieve its objectives.

"It’s a good message today, but we can’t think the season is done. Next week we have to put in the same intensity," he said.

The victory was Real Madrid’s fifth consecutive win across all competitions.
New Delhi: Students protesting at Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi have refused to call off their agitation despite a university order stating that students' union elections will be held after the approval of the union constitution. The students have described the assurance as unclear and said they will continue their protest until the administration gives a written commitment to their demands.

According to a statement issued by the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association (JKSA), Jamia Registrar Professor Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi reached the campus at around 4.30 am on Monday (October 26) and held talks with the protesting students. He presented an official order dated October 26 and urged them to end the agitation, saying their demands had been met.

The students said the order did not clearly announce the restoration of the elected students' union or specify when the process would be completed.

“The notice failed to provide a clear and unambiguous announcement regarding the restoration of the students’ union, leaving several key concerns unaddressed,” the association said in its statement.

What does Jamia's order say?

The university's order states that Jamia Millia Islamia Students' Union elections will be held 15 days after the students' union constitution receives approval. However, it does not specify a date for approving the constitution, leaving the election schedule uncertain.

The order also revokes suspension orders and show-cause notices issued to students during the protest. It further announces the formation of a committee to investigate the conduct of university security staff during the agitation.

Students have welcomed neither the order as a complete resolution nor the absence of a deadline. They have also pointed out that their demand for the resignation of the proctor has not been addressed.

“Assurances without concrete decisions and a clear roadmap cannot be treated as fulfilment of our demands,” the association said, adding that the agitation would continue until the administration provided written commitments on their demands.

The association said that the protest was aimed at securing democratic rights and meaningful student representation on campus.

Varsity seeks apology, removal of social media posts

The university's order also sets out conditions on statements made during the agitation. It records an undertaking by the protesting students to issue a public apology at a press conference for allegedly defamatory statements, actions or social media posts directed against the administration.

It also directs the students to remove the posts from social media channels with immediate effect and says compliance will be monitored.

“The protest shall be called off immediately on issue of this order,” the university order states.

The dispute has revolved around students' demands for the restoration of the elected union and the conduct of elections.Students want an elected body to represent them and raise issues related to campus life. Their grievances have also included disciplinary action against proctor and the conduct of university security personnel.

The university's order addresses some of these issues through the withdrawal of suspensions and show-cause notices and a promised inquiry into the conduct of security staff. The students, however, are demanding a definite timeline for approval of the union constitution and the subsequent elections.

ANI said it had contacted the university's public relations department for a response, but no reply had been received at the time of filing the report.

(With inputs from ANI)

Jamias order withdraws disciplinary action against protesting students and promises an inquiry into the conduct of security staff. However, the administration has not set a deadline for approving the students union constitution, and the students demand for the proctors resignation has not been addressed.

Rio de Janeiro (Brazil): Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has won a fourth presidential term after defeating his right-wing rival Flávio Bolsonaro in run-off election on Sunday (October25). With 99.77% of the votes counted, the 80-year-old left-wing leader won 51.76% of the valid votes, while Flávio Bolsonaro received 48.24%, according to Brazilian media and polling firm Datafolha.

The result extends his record as one of Brazil's longest-serving presidents. By the end of his new term, he will have spent 16 years in office, the longest period in power by a president in the country’s democratic history.

Lula's victory followed a closely fought campaign dominated by the cost of living, crime and corruption allegations involving both candidates' families and political allies. CNN reported that Lula became the first candidate since Brazil restored direct presidential elections in 1989 to win the presidency after finishing second in the first round.

Cost of living and crime dominate campaign

Lula faced a difficult re-election battle as voters weighed the rising cost of living and crime and security issues. His rival, Bolsonaro, made a tough approach to crime a major part of his campaign and promised to reduce food prices.

The campaign also featured corruption allegations involving people close to both candidates. Lula himself spent more than a year in prison after corruption convictions that were later annulled.

Bolsonaro, the son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, sought to build support among voters who backed his father's political movement. The contest placed Lula's left-wing Workers' Party against a candidate representing Brazil's conservative political camp.

The final hours before Sunday's vote witnessed intense campaigning by both candidates. The polling period was extended by two hours after the candidates made last-minute appeals to electoral authorities.

Lula's return and Brazil's foreign policy

Lula first served as president from 2003 to 2010. He won re-election in 2006 and left office in 2010, when his cabinet minister Dilma Rousseff succeeded him. The later won another term in 2014.

Lula began his political career in the 1970s as a trade union leader before helping establish the Workers' Party. He contested the presidency thrice before winning the election in 2002.

His fourth term is also expected to influence Brazil's foreign policy. CNN reported that the result would keep Latin America's largest country on a more independent foreign-policy course under him. He has emphasised national sovereignty and stronger relations with China and other countries in the Global South.

His approach has also led to tensions with US President Donald Trump's administration over foreign relations and trade policy.

The election campaign was dominated by the cost of living, crime and corruption allegations. Lula’s victory also keeps the country on a foreign policy path that favours stronger ties with China and other Global South nations, with potential implications for relations with US President Donald Trump.

Tel Aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing resistance from military chief General Eyal Zamir over plans for a possible military operation involving Iran, according to Israeli media reports published a day before the country's election.

Citing anonymous sources, Israel's Channel 12 reported that Zamir had sought further deliberations on the proposed action and written documentation from the prime minister confirming its legal authorisation. The report did not disclose the details of the military instructions, although it has led to speculation about preparations for another attack on Iran.

A military source quoted by the channel said, “This relates to an action that could lead to a flare-up with Iran, at a sensitive and dramatic moment, creating this potential miscalculation.”

It also cited unnamed sources familiar with the matter who said military leaders feared that the political leadership could seek “to utilize the Iranian issue for political benefit”.

Netanyahu dismissed the allegations as “nonsense” in an interview with Israel's Channel 14, according to The Times of Israel.

Iran plans and election campaign

The reported disagreement emerged just a day before election in the country that is scheduled to be held on Tuesday (October 26). Opinion polls projected a close contest between Netanyahu and his main rival, Gadi Eisenkot.

In an earlier television appearance, the prime minister said that he had instructed the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the Mossad to work towards toppling the Iranian regime.

He has also made Iran's nuclear programme a major part of his election campaign. On Sunday (October 25), he shared an AI-generated image depicting a nuclear explosion over Tel Aviv and warned that a vote against him could expose Israelis to the threat of a “second Holocaust”.

The post quoted right-wing activist Yuval Blumberg, who described Iran's potential acquisition of nuclear weapons as an existential danger to Israel.

“The State of Israel is in real and tangible existential danger. If the Iranians acquire nuclear weapons, nothing will ever be the same again. Everything is so trivial compared to the existential threat of Iran and the Shiite axis,” the post read.

It also argued that Israel had a limited period to complete its efforts against Iran while US President Donald Trump was in office.

“We have another two years of Trump to finish the work in Iran, and there is no telling what will come after that – whether it's Kamala Harris or some other mediocre. This is the window of time we have left to complete the necessary work to ensure our physical existence for the coming years,” the post said.

It further argued that Israel needed a prime minister who could maintain close communication with Trump to carry out the task.

Trump extends support for Netanyahu

The US president has publicly endorsed Netanyahu again on Sunday, sharing an earlier endorsement on his Truth Social and urging Israeli voters to return the prime minister to office.

He cited US military operations against Iran, including Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury, while claiming that Iran had lost its navy and air force and that its military and economy were in disarray. He also referred to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and claimed that Iran's inflation rate had reached 301%.

“Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister, we have to finish the job that we started,” Trump wrote.

The US president described Netanyahu as “an outstanding Warrior Prime Minister” and said their cooperation had helped prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Final election projections published on October 23 showed that neither Netanyahu's governing coalition nor the Opposition bloc was expected to win enough seats to form a government after Tuesday's vote.

(With ANI inputs)

US President Donald Trump has reiterated his support for Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israels election, while the Israeli prime minister has warned of a possible nuclear threat from Iran.

Numerology Horoscope Prediction Today, October 26, 2026: Maintain grounding routines

Tarot Card Reading Horoscope Today for October 26: Let the energy of October illuminate your path with wisdom, intuition, and a deeper connection to your inner self. Discover what the Tarot cards reveal for your sun sign today as Deepali Rawtani, Tarot Mentor & Chakra Healer, shares insights on it.

Aries — The Emperor

The Emperor represents discipline, authority, leadership and stability. Monday may encourage you to take greater control of your plans and bring more structure to areas of life that have felt uncertain or disorganised. You may feel ready to make firm decisions, set clear priorities and approach your responsibilities with a practical mindset. If you have been postponing an important task, this card encourages you to stop waiting for the perfect moment and begin taking consistent action. Your ability to remain focused and organised can help you make meaningful progress.

Professionally, The Emperor highlights leadership, strategic planning and accountability. You may find yourself thinking about long-term career goals or considering how to handle responsibilities more effectively. If you are managing a team or coordinating with others, clear instructions and realistic expectations will be important. Financially, this is a good day to review your budget, organise your expenses and think carefully about future commitments. In relationships, your dependable nature can provide reassurance, but avoid becoming too controlling or expecting others to follow your approach in every situation. Strength and leadership work best when balanced with patience and understanding.

Today's Message: Take responsibility for your goals, create a clear plan and lead with confidence without becoming rigid.

Taurus — Ace of Pentacles

The Ace of Pentacles represents new opportunities connected with money, career, stability and long-term growth. Monday may bring an idea, conversation or possibility that deserves your attention. You may come across a practical way to improve your financial position, develop a professional skill or begin working towards a more stable future. The opportunity may initially appear small, but consistent effort could help it grow into something valuable. This card encourages you to recognise promising possibilities while taking the time to understand their practical benefits.

Professionally, you may feel motivated to explore a new project, consider a job opportunity or discuss an idea that could support your career development. If an opportunity comes your way, examine the details rather than dismissing it because it seems unfamiliar. Financially, focus on realistic planning, savings and decisions that support long-term security. Avoid assuming that every promising offer will automatically lead to success; careful evaluation remains essential. In relationships, stability and dependability may matter more than dramatic gestures. Small, thoughtful actions can help strengthen trust and create a greater sense of security with loved ones.

Today's Message: Stay alert to practical opportunities, evaluate them carefully and take the first step towards building lasting stability.

Gemini — Eight of Wands

The Eight of Wands represents speed, movement, communication and developments that begin progressing quickly. Monday could bring a busy schedule filled with messages, calls, discussions or tasks that require your attention. Something that has been delayed may begin moving forward, or you may receive information that helps you decide what to do next. Your ability to communicate clearly and respond efficiently will be particularly useful. However, a fast-moving day can also become overwhelming if you try to handle everything at once.

Professionally, this card favours networking, follow-ups, presentations and conversations about pending work. You may find that timely communication helps move a project closer to completion. Make sure you check important details before sending messages or confirming commitments, especially when working under pressure. Financially, avoid rushing into purchases or decisions simply because an opportunity appears time-sensitive. In relationships, quick conversations can help clear up minor misunderstandings, but do not let a packed schedule prevent you from giving people your full attention. If several responsibilities arrive together, prioritise the most important ones instead of spreading your energy too thin.

Today's Message: Use your momentum wisely, communicate clearly and stay organised even when things begin moving quickly.

Cancer — The High Priestess

The High Priestess represents intuition, inner wisdom, observation and the importance of understanding what lies beneath the surface. Monday may encourage you to slow down and pay closer attention to your thoughts and feelings before making personal decisions. You may sense that a situation needs more time or that you do not yet have all the information required to reach a conclusion. Rather than feeling pressured to respond immediately, allow yourself the space to observe, reflect and understand what is happening.

Professionally, this card suggests listening carefully during discussions and gathering the necessary information before committing to a decision. You may benefit from working quietly on a plan rather than sharing every idea before it is fully developed. Financially, review the details of any proposal and avoid relying entirely on assumptions or someone else's assurances. In relationships, your sensitivity may help you recognise emotional changes, but it is important not to confuse intuition with fear or speculation. If something is bothering you, a calm and honest conversation may provide more clarity than silently analysing every possibility. Time spent in reflection can help you approach the situation with greater confidence.

Today's Message: Trust your inner voice, observe carefully and combine intuition with facts before making important decisions.

Leo — The Magician

The Magician represents skill, confidence, resourcefulness and the ability to turn ideas into action. Monday may remind you that you already possess many of the abilities needed to make progress towards your goals. Instead of waiting for perfect circumstances, consider how you can use your existing knowledge, experience and connections to create an opportunity. A conversation, professional idea or personal initiative may become more promising when you approach it with clarity and preparation. This card encourages you to recognise your potential and use it purposefully.

Professionally, The Magician supports presentations, negotiations, creative projects and situations where communication and problem-solving are important. You may find a way to present your ideas more effectively or use a particular skill to stand out. Financially, focus on practical ways to manage your resources or develop an idea that could support future growth. Be realistic about what you can achieve, and avoid making promises that are difficult to fulfil. In relationships, honest communication can help you express your needs and strengthen mutual understanding. Your confidence may attract attention, but genuine connection depends on sincerity rather than trying to impress others.

Today's Message: Make the most of your skills, communicate with confidence and turn your ideas into practical action.

Virgo — King of Pentacles

The King of Pentacles represents financial stability, practical judgement, responsibility and long-term success. Monday may encourage you to take a more organised approach to money, work and future planning. You may feel motivated to review your priorities, assess your progress or identify ways to make your current position more secure. This card favours steady, realistic decisions over quick gains. It reminds you that lasting success is often built through consistency, patience and a willingness to think beyond immediate rewards.

Professionally, this is a favourable energy for reviewing your career goals, managing responsibilities and considering how your skills can contribute to long-term growth. Your practical approach may help you handle a complicated task or make a more informed decision. Financially, budgeting, reviewing savings and planning upcoming expenses can be useful. If you are considering a significant purchase or financial commitment, weigh the benefits against the long-term cost. In relationships, reliability and thoughtful support can strengthen bonds. However, remember that emotional needs are just as important as practical responsibilities. Make time for meaningful conversations rather than assuming that providing stability is the only way to show care.

Today's Message: Think long term, manage your resources carefully and let practical decisions support your future security.

Libra — Queen of Swords

The Queen of Swords represents clarity, independence, honesty and the ability to establish healthy boundaries. Monday may encourage you to look at a situation more objectively and recognise what needs to change. You may feel less willing to tolerate confusion, unclear expectations or commitments that take too much of your time and energy. This card supports making thoughtful decisions based on facts rather than allowing guilt, pressure or the desire to please everyone to influence your choices. Being considerate does not mean you must ignore your own needs.

Professionally, clear communication will be important, especially when discussing responsibilities, deadlines or expectations with colleagues. If a situation has become complicated, address the issue directly and focus on finding a workable solution. Financially, read the details of agreements carefully and avoid making commitments simply to keep others happy. In relationships, you may need to express your feelings or establish a boundary that helps maintain mutual respect. Be honest without becoming unnecessarily harsh. You can communicate firmly while still allowing room for another person's perspective. The goal is not to create distance but to build relationships based on clarity and understanding.

Today's Message: Speak honestly, protect your boundaries and make decisions with clarity rather than pressure.

Scorpio — The Chariot

The Chariot represents determination, focus, discipline and forward movement. Monday may motivate you to take charge of a situation that has been delayed or difficult to manage. If you have been waiting for progress, this card encourages you to identify what is within your control and take practical steps towards your goal. You may need to balance competing responsibilities or resist distractions that have been slowing you down. The key is to remain committed to your direction without allowing frustration to dictate your actions.

Professionally, The Chariot supports focused effort, decisive planning and the determination to overcome obstacles. You may find it easier to move a pending task forward when you establish clear priorities and follow through consistently. Financially, avoid impulsive decisions made out of impatience. A structured approach to your spending and savings can help you maintain control. In relationships, your determination can be helpful when resolving a problem, but avoid treating every disagreement as something you must win. Cooperation is often more effective than trying to control every outcome. If you feel pulled in different directions, return to your main priorities and take one step at a time.

Today's Message: Stay focused on your goals, manage distractions and move forward with determination and emotional balance.

Sagittarius — Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune represents change, shifting circumstances, unexpected developments and new possibilities. Monday may bring a change in plans, an unexpected conversation or an opportunity that encourages you to look at a situation differently. Something that has felt uncertain could begin to move in a new direction, although the outcome may not be immediately clear. This card reminds you that life does not always follow a fixed timeline. Remaining flexible can help you recognise possibilities that you might otherwise overlook.

Professionally, you may hear about a new opening, receive an update on a pending matter or discover an alternative route towards a goal. Stay receptive to developments, but evaluate opportunities carefully before making commitments. Financially, avoid relying on luck alone or assuming that a sudden opportunity guarantees success. Thoughtful planning remains important even when circumstances appear favourable. In relationships, changing perspectives can help you understand another person more clearly. If plans with loved ones shift unexpectedly, try to adapt without becoming unnecessarily frustrated. Not every change will be within your control, but your response can influence how effectively you handle it.

Today's Message: Stay flexible, recognise emerging opportunities and respond to change with an open mind and practical judgement.

Capricorn — Eight of Pentacles

The Eight of Pentacles represents dedication, skill development, concentration and the value of consistent effort. Monday may encourage you to focus on improving your work and strengthening the abilities that support your professional growth. You may feel motivated to complete a pending assignment, learn something useful or refine a process that could make your work more effective. This card highlights the importance of patience: meaningful progress often comes from repeating small actions and learning from experience rather than expecting immediate results.

Professionally, this is a good day to concentrate on quality, organisation and the details that contribute to successful outcomes. If you have been considering a course or a new skill, think about how it could support your longer-term goals. Financially, steady effort and sensible planning are more helpful than looking for quick gains. You may benefit from reviewing how your current habits support your future security. In relationships, remember that dedication should not be limited to work. Making time for family, friends or a partner can help maintain balance. If you have been too occupied with responsibilities, a small but thoughtful gesture may help someone close feel appreciated.

Today's Message: Focus on improving your skills, remain consistent in your efforts and give both work and relationships the attention they deserve.

Aquarius — The Fool

The Fool represents new beginnings, curiosity, freedom and the willingness to explore unfamiliar possibilities. Monday may bring a fresh idea or inspire you to reconsider a plan that no longer feels right. You may feel ready to try a different approach, learn something new or explore an opportunity outside your usual routine. This card encourages you to remain open to experiences that could expand your perspective. You do not need to have every detail figured out before taking the first step, but you should understand the risks involved in important decisions.

Professionally, you may begin thinking about a new project, a different working style or a career direction that feels more aligned with your interests. Use your curiosity to explore the possibilities before committing. Financially, avoid making impulsive purchases or taking unnecessary risks simply because something seems exciting. In relationships, a relaxed attitude and a willingness to understand different perspectives can bring freshness to your interactions. If you have been feeling stuck in a routine, consider introducing a small change rather than making a sudden, sweeping decision. A thoughtful beginning can be just as valuable as a dramatic leap.

Today's Message: Be open to new experiences, take the first step with confidence and balance spontaneity with sensible planning.

Pisces — Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups represents emotional renewal, love, compassion and the opportunity to reconnect with yourself and others. Monday may encourage you to pay greater attention to your emotional needs and make room for experiences that bring you peace. You may feel more willing to express affection, have an honest conversation or reconnect with someone who matters to you. This card also highlights self-care: if you have been giving too much of your energy to other people, it may be time to restore your own emotional balance.

Professionally, a fresh perspective or a supportive interaction may help you feel more connected to your work. If you have been considering a creative idea, give yourself permission to explore it without immediately judging the outcome. Financially, try to avoid spending money purely to improve your mood. Look for healthy and sustainable ways to feel comfortable and secure. In love, the Ace of Cups encourages emotional openness and genuine affection. Couples may find it helpful to express appreciation more clearly, while single Pisces may feel ready to open their hearts to a new connection. Whatever your relationship status, remember that emotional well-being also depends on treating yourself with kindness.

Today's Message: Make space for emotional renewal, express your feelings sincerely and care for yourself as thoughtfully as you care for others.

Overall Tarot Message for 26 October 2026

The tarot cards for Monday highlight the importance of combining ambition with awareness. The Emperor and The Chariot encourage discipline, leadership and determination, while the Ace of Pentacles and King of Pentacles draw attention to practical opportunities and financial stability. The Eight of Wands suggests that communication and pending matters may move quickly, and the Wheel of Fortune reminds you to remain adaptable when circumstances change.

At the same time, The High Priestess encourages you to listen to your inner wisdom, the Queen of Swords highlights the value of honest communication, and the Ace of Cups reminds you to nurture your emotional well-being. The Magician and The Fool bring attention to your skills, creativity and willingness to explore new possibilities.

The central message of the day is to take responsibility for your goals, stay open to new opportunities and make decisions with clarity and confidence. Progress does not always require a dramatic change; sometimes, a disciplined approach, an honest conversation or one thoughtful decision is enough to move you forward.

Affirmation for the day: “I trust my abilities, welcome new opportunities and take thoughtful steps towards a stable and fulfilling future.”

Tarot card reading for October 26, 2026: Stay alert to practical opportunities

Dialogue of the day: Throughout our lives, there are certain movies, series, or even books that stay with us forever. Sometimes it’s just a single quote; we hold onto these small comforts to help us get through days that feel especially heavy. Life has its ups and downs, and each day can be a mix of both. Today, I want to share a dialogue from one of my favourite coming-of-age comedy-drama films, something that can bring a little warmth and perspective, even on your hardest days.

Dialogue of the day

"Kabil bano, kabil... kamyabi toh saali jhak maar ke peeche bhagegi!" — 3 Idiots

This deeply iconic line is delivered during a moment of passionate idealism, serving as an ideological anchor in a story consumed by academic pressure, societal expectations, and the rat race for superficial success.

This powerful line gently reminds us that no matter how overwhelmed or pressured we become by external benchmarks, true fulfilment simply begins with cultivating genuine competence, curiosity, and passion. Life can pull us into competitive traps in unexpected ways, but as long as we focus on self-improvement and learning for the joy of it, success naturally follows as an inevitable byproduct. It encourages us to anchor ourselves in personal excellence, especially when modern life feels entirely defined by marks and achievements.

Meaning Behind the Dialogue

While brief, this line serves as the philosophical pivot of the entire film. It acts as a powerful reminder to:

Prioritise true capability and passion over the blind pursuit of marks, ranks, and societal validation.

Value the journey of learning and self-mastery before the pressure to prove yourself forces you to lose your passion.

Life is meant to be lived with curiosity, each moment offering an opportunity to grow and master your craft, even if the system outside feels rigid or demanding. Whenever you feel anxious about the future or overwhelmed by success-driven stress, try to pause, redefine your goals around excellence, and focus on becoming the best version of yourself.

Just as true competence creates its own path, look inward and remind yourself of what truly counts, that you are growing, learning, and building skills that will inevitably bring success.

About '3 Idiots'

3 Idiots (2009) is a legendary coming-of-age comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani that thoughtfully explores the flaws of the education system, parental pressure, and the transformative power of true friendship. The film follows three engineering students at a prestigious institution—Ranchoddas "Rancho" Shamaldas Chanchad, Farhan Qureshi, and Raju Rastogi—as they navigate the overwhelming pressures of academic life while discovering their real passions. It serves as a compelling exploration of how genuine curiosity and integrity, rather than rote learning and fear, form the true foundation of personal and professional success.

Rajkumar Hiranis classic 3 Idiots delivers a timeless lesson in self-mastery with its iconic dialogue, reminding us that cultivating true excellence and passion naturally brings success in its wake.

Dialogue of the day from 3 Idiots, 'Kabil bano, kabil....'

Quote of the day: We often waste our valuable energy obsessing over the actions of others and seeking ways to pull them down, losing sight of our own growth. Shah Rukh Khan’s perspective on positive focus grounds a successful mindset into an actionable philosophy for everyday elevation.

Quote of the day

“Don't waste your energies thinking about what others are doing around you. Don't think about how you can undermine somebody else. Think positively.” - Shah Rukh Khan

Meaning behind the quote

The core of this statement lies in the absolute power of constructive focus, creative energy, and unyielding positivity. By emphasising that directing attention toward undermining others is a wasteful pursuit, the quote highlights that true success and contentment are built through self-belief rather than comparison or conflict.

The highlight of his statement lies in viewing achievement through an intrinsically driven, optimistic lens. Rather than competing out of spite or measuring progress against the benchmarks of peers, this philosophy frames positive thinking, internal motivation, and creative building as the ultimate drivers of enduring success.

The directive to focus on positive energy reinforces that our focus is our most precious resource. True greatness isn't sustained by pulling others down or playing political mind games; it is forged through channelling your mindset toward creation, uplifting those around you, and relentlessly building your own craft.

For anyone seeking motivation or a reset today, the message serves as a reminder that your energy is far too valuable to be spent on external noise. Guarding your focus and choosing a positive, forward-looking attitude is entirely within your control.

About Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, often referred to as the "King of Bollywood" or "SRK," is a globally renowned Indian actor, film producer, and television personality. With a career spanning over three decades and dozens of iconic films, he is celebrated as one of the most successful and influential movie stars in cinema history. Known for his charismatic screen presence, unmatched eloquence, and sharp intellect, Shah Rukh Khan serves as an inspiring global icon whose journey exemplifies hard work, perseverance, and relentless positivity.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan emphasises the power of constructive focus and positive thinking, reminding us that success comes from building our own potential rather than wasting energy on others.
